LYRA CURATOR OF CONTEMPORARY ART
LYRA Art Foundation is proud to support the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco (ICA SF) through the LYRA Curator of Contemporary Art, a three-year curatorial position established to champion the power of contemporary art in Downtown San Francisco.
The role reflects LYRA's commitment to empowering underrepresented artists and strengthening a rich, inclusive visual culture – values closely aligned with ICA SF's own mission. Through this ongoing support, LYRA backs ICA SF's woman-led institution and its role as a cultural anchor for the city.

ICA SF approaches the city itself as a canvas, growing and adapting alongside San Francisco to meet the shifting needs of its communities. Rather than working within a fixed space, the institution moves through the city, building partnerships and engaging neighborhoods directly, which allows it to respond quickly to what a given moment or place calls for. This flexible, forward-looking approach treats art as a tool for civic renewal — one capable of reshaping how people relate to public space, architecture, and each other, and of leaving a lasting mark long after a given project has come and gone.
The grant also extends to ICA SF's exhibitions and public art program, supporting major new commissions that engage directly with San Francisco's parks, streetscapes, and urban architecture. These projects turn everyday city spaces into places for connection and shared experience. LYRA believes that art is the pulse of a city, and that supporting this kind of ambitious, site-specific work sustains the long-term vibrancy, identity, and soul of the community it serves.
