Jadé Fadojutimi
Jadé Fadojutimi is a British painter whose abstract works conjure emotion through movement, an array of colour, and dynamic composition. Often working on a monumental scale, her characteristically vivid brushstrokes convey a sense of flux, reflecting complex processes of self-reflection. Fadojutimi explores everyday experience and memory, interrogating the relationship between the self and its surroundings. Through successive layers of oil paint, sometimes interrupted by oil pastel, she creates compositions that are at once familiar and elusive, hinting at continuous transformation. The abstraction of her vibrant paintings generates a space of ambiguity, within which references to specific objects, organic forms, places, and sounds linger and come alive. Her inspirations include Japanese subcultures, clothing, and soundtracks, with writing also playing a key role in her artistic process. Born in 1993, Fadojutimi lives and works in London.
